Engagement Announcements

An engagement announcement is your first chance to share the joy—and the specific details matter more than you'd think. The right wording strikes the balance between genuine emotion and the practical information guests need (date, time, and how to celebrate with you).

Starts from: “We're engaged and want to invite close friends and family to a casual brunch on Sunday, May 12th at 11 AM at our home to celebrate.” — edit anything once it’s designed.

Good to know

When should I send an engagement announcement invitation?

Timing depends on your guest list and celebration style. If you're announcing within the first month of getting engaged, send invites 2–3 weeks out. For a larger celebration, aim for 4–6 weeks. RevelPost lets you set your own reminder schedule so guests don't miss the date.

What's the difference between an engagement announcement and an engagement party?

An announcement is typically more casual—a brunch, dinner, or gathering to share the news. An engagement party is a formal hosted celebration (often thrown by someone else). Both can work beautifully; choose based on your style and who you want present.

Should my engagement announcement include wedding details?

Not necessary in the invitation itself. Keep the focus on celebrating the engagement. You can mention a wedding date if it's set and finalized, but save Save the Date cards for that later. RevelPost makes it easy to send follow-up Save the Dates with verified guest details when you're ready.

Make it yours in one sentence.

Every example above regenerates as your event — your names, your venue, your date, verified.
